It was another great discussion with Author Alexandra Slater, also known as 'The Hingham Housewife'. You can listen to us discuss various life problems, submitted by our listeners every Wednesday morning at 9:10! This week, a disgruntled mom wrote in about a frustration with her postpartum daughter:
My daughter just had a baby, and I also finally started dating again after my husband and I divorced three years ago. She wants me to help her with the baby all the time, but I’m cultivating a new relationship. Is it unfair of me to tell her no? Or is she being unfair to me if she’s mad I’m out with my new boyfriend instead of helping her with the baby?
This is a sensitive topic that Rob, Beth, and the Hingham Housewife all tried to navigate. A 508 number texted into the text line with this feedback:
I feel like the mom needs to prioritize her daughter, especially if it’s a new baby. Mom’s have a responsibility to their kids.
What do you think? Listen to our segment and you can always text the text line: 781-837-4900.

It wouldn't be Wednesday without our weekly dose of advice from the Hingham Housewife! Author Alexandra Slater is here to help with various life dilemmas submitted by our listeners.
One disgruntled gentleman wrote in for some guidance on feeling resentment towards his spouse:
Dear Hingham Housewife:

I've been retired for about seven years and while I enjoy spending more time on my hobbies such as fishing and golfing; I am resentful that my wife continues to work. We're financially independent and she could retire if she wanted. But she says likes getting out of the house five days a week and enjoys the job. However, I am feeling lonely and neglected. Is it wrong for me to feel that way? Do you think she could cut back? I would appreciate your advice.Signed,Retired but Resentful
A lot of opinions were had between Rob, Beth and Alex. One anonymous listener called in to give feedback that the wife should keep working as long as she wants to!
