It is March so Rob and Beth are excited to highlight important stories during Women's History Month, especially the stories surrounding the local women of South Shore's rich history. This week, we were joined by Malka Benjamin, Museum Historian and Expert at Plimoth Patuxet Museums.

Thursdays are for Rob and Beth's weekly check-up with Dr. John Hayes. For this week's Living and Practicing by Design segment, Dr. John Hayes wanted to discuss the powerful effects of supplements, even helping to reduce pain!
Research suggests that omega-3 fatty acids, particularly eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), found in fatty fish like salmon, mackerel, and sardines, some nuts especially walnuts, chia seeds, edamame and other healthy plants have anti-inflammatory properties that can help alleviate various types of pain. And it's a myth that you have to eat a lot of fish for adequate dietary Omega 3's. Some studies now show that functional levels of essential fatty acids may be far better in those on a plant based diet.*
Rob, Beth, and the Doctor all discussed the importance of choosing the best quality supplements, talking to your doctor about this, and how we can all reduce inflammation through our diets and lifestyle choices. You can read Dr. John Hayes' full blog post here and listen to the interview now:

Rob and Beth enjoy their weekly "software update" on Tech Talk, with David Snell from ACT Smart I.T. in Wareham. For the Tech Talk this week, it was a very important discussion regarding how to keep kids safe while they are using technology. Children are surrounded by media as they grow up in this world, and it is only a matter of time before they are given their own personal device. How can a parent keep their child safe in the digital world?
Well, Apple has decided to make some major changes with their child safety measures and parents are the ones who need to take advantage of it. You can read all about it by clicking here for David's blog and listen to our discussion all about it:

Tuesdays are when Rob and Beth receive their "software update" on their weekly feature, "Tech Talk" with David Snell of ACT Smart I.T. in Wareham.
This week, it is all about a favorite household companion, Amazon's Alexa! She is going through an upgrade herself with some AI capabilities, which David says will help her to communicate with us even more efficiently - so she will be called Alexa+ . AND Alexa will even be able to play story time with your kids! A feature called "Stories with Alexa" will be available, where children can ask for a certain tale, and Alexa will do the rest of the work, complete with fun sound effects as well. Rob and Beth were thinking that maybe Alexa+ should hold down a shift at the radio station soon!
