South Shore Spooks wraps up today with our epic finale: The Lizzie Borden House in Fall River. The mystery remains as to who killed Andrew and Abby Borden so this home is one of the most infamous crime scenes in the world. These notorious double murders happened in 1892, and shook the world with its unraveling tale of gruesome and violent offenses. Did Lizzie Borden use a hatchet to commit these crimes as a way to acquire her family's fortune and rid her life of Abby, the unfavorable stepmother? Or was it Lizzie's Uncle-John Morse-who was visiting from out of town and was witnessed having a "serious" discussion with Andrew Borden the night before? Lizzie ultimately was charged with the murders but acquitted at trial, a moment that displeased a majority of the Fall River community at the time. No one else was implicated or jailed for these crimes so Andrew and Abby's murders still go unsolved. The house holds these secrets, and perhaps, these secrets hold the house. Reports of paranormal activity are prevalent as visitors claim to have experienced seeing shadow figures and hearing footsteps that lead nowhere. Tour guide Ryk McIntyre leads us through the house and talks to us about his own experiences as well. Let us know what you think... play the audio below to find out and listen to the rest of the "South Shore Spooks" features as we wrap up this series with the our finale, the Lizzie Borden House.
