Our October feature, South Shore Spooks, continues this week as we step aboard the last remaining heavy cruiser, the USS Salem in Quincy. The ship is steeped in history with its past as a makeshift hospital in the Mediterranean Sea during the Ionian Earthquake crisis of 1953, many trips across the Atlantic Ocean, and finally resting now in the same place it was built: the old Quincy Shipyard near Quincy Point. Many people report seeing "figures" in the windows as they drive down Careswell street in Marshfield, passing by The Historic Winslow House. Being that the house is one of the oldest in the state of Massachusetts, we wanted to investigate this eerie residence ourselves. We spoke to Winslow House board member Kathleen O'Connor who mentioned she sometimes doesn't feel anything inside, but other moments...she does.
